Hiking & mountaineering

As the name of our place suggests, the mountaineering village of Ginzling and thus our house is an ideal starting point for numerous mountain tours.
There is something for everyone - from easy walks to more demanding hikes to real summit storms in the middle of the Zillertal Alps high mountain nature park - everyone gets their money's worth here.
According to the Alpine Association cartography, the Zillertal Alps have 72 three-thousanders.
Ginzling is the starting point for most of them, including the highest Zillertal summit, the Hochfeiler (3,509 m). In addition, there are numerous managed Alpine Club huts and various wonderful hut tours around the impressive Ginzlinger mountains. Without having to descend into the valley, the popular Berliner Höhenweg leads in up to seven daily stages across the Zillertal to the Tux main ridge.

Climbing & bouldering

In the past few years, the mountain climbing village of Ginzling has emerged as a small mecca for sport climbers.
Climbers will find all levels of difficulty on incomparable bouldering sites and well-secured climbing routes.
The Nasenwand via ferrata is right in the center of the town (15 minutes' walk from the property).
The via ferrata offers 400 vertical meters and a climbing length of around 500 m. The level of difficulty is consistently between C and D, sometimes even E.
The entire climb takes about 2-3 hours. The via ferrata offers a fascinating view of the mountain climbing village of Ginzling and the surrounding peaks of the Zillertal Alps.
There are over 100 routes from IV + to X in the “Ewige Jagdgründe” climbing garden (can be reached in about 15 minutes by car).
Climbing on five granite blocks up to 30 m high on well-secured routes.

Cycling & mountain biking

Of course, enthusiastic cyclists will also get their money's worth in Ginzling - there are numerous bike tours that can be started directly from the accommodation - such as to the famous Schlegeiss reservoir or to the Innerböden or to the Oberböden Alm.

If that is still too little, there are numerous signposted mountain bike tours with various levels of difficulty around Mayrhofen and its side valleys (Zillergrund, Stilluptal) and on Actionberg Penken.
Those who prefer a more relaxed approach can of course cycle along the idyllic Ziller Promenade (next to the river of the Zillertal) from Mayrhofen to the end of the Zillertal.

Schlegeis reservoir

One of the most impressive sights in the Zillertal is the Schlegeis reservoir in Ginzling, which can be easily reached by car or bus from the accommodation (approx. 15 km).
The 13.3 km long Schlegeis Alpine Road leads via eight hairpin bends and four natural stone tunnels to the parking lots at the Schlegeis Reservoir at around 1,800 m above sea level. As a Ginzling guest, you receive a reduced toll card at the nature park house with the guest card. The 725-meter-long and 131-meter-high dam wall rises imposingly and is definitely worth a visit.
A hike along the reservoir or to one of the numerous huts, for which the Schlegeis reservoir is the starting point, makes the heart of nature lovers beat faster.
Of course there is also the possibility to explore the interior of the dam. The one-hour tour of the Schlegeis lock takes place from June to October between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. every hour on the hour.

Rafting & Canyoning & co.

There are rafting tours on the Ziller, on the Gerlosbach or on the Inn.
Rafting offers the opportunity to experience the unique natural landscape of the Zillertal from the river. With an experienced guide you paddle through rapids and master the majestic water masses of the rivers.

Tubing: With an experienced guide, whitewater equipment, a tube (tire) and a torrent, adrenaline seekers will get their money's worth here.

Canyoning (gorge hiking): offers a lot of action when abseiling over waterfalls and rocks along the gorge (between Mayrhofen and Ginzling).
Whether young or old, families or groups, there is a suitable offer for everyone.
